Undergraduate/Technical Students

  • Federal Pell Grant: limited to students in an undergraduate program who have financial need and have never earned an undergraduate degree. The amount of the award is determined by completing the FAFSA. This aid does not have to be repaid in most cases.
  • Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG): Grant awarded to students with the greatest financial need. This aid does not have to be repaid in most cases. The amount of the award is determined by the institution.
  • Direct Loan Program Subsidized Loan: Available to undergraduate students with financial need. Student is not responsible for interest while enrolled in school at least half-time.Amount determined by grade level in college.Repayment begins 6 months after completion or withdrawal from program of study.
  • Unsubsidized Direct Loan Program Loan: Available to undergraduate and graduate students. Not need-based. Student is responsible for all interest accrued even while in school. Award amount is determined by degree level in college and dependency status. Repayment begins 6 months after completion or withdrawal from the institution.
  • Parent Direct PLUS Loan:  loans awarded to parents of dependent undergraduate students to help pay for educational expenses not covered by other financial aid. Eligibility is not based on financial need, but a credit check is required. Amount cannot exceed the student's cost of attendance.

Graduate Students / Professionals

  • Unsubsidized Direct Loan Program loan: is not based on need. The student is responsible for all interest accrued even while in school. Repayment begins 6 months after completion or withdrawal from the institution.
  • Direct Graduate PLUS Loan: loans awarded to graduate or professional students. The maximum PLUS loan amount you can borrow is the cost of attendance (determined by the school) minus any other financial aid you receive and eligibility.
