President José F. Méndez Méndez Biography

Dr. José F. Méndez Méndez has worked for over three decades at the Universidad Ana G. Méndez (UAGM). He began in 1984 as the executive assistant to the general manager of the then Channel 40, now the Sistema TV- Canal Universitario Ana G. Méndez. He also served as associate programming director, programming director, administration director, as well as vice president and general manager. He worked at the channel for 14 years, seven of which were spent as the general director, where he made significant contributions. Since 2002, he has been prominent in the President's Office, holding the positions of associate vice president of corporate and international affairs, interim vice president of administrative affairs, executive vice president, and interim president. During his time in the President's Office, he demonstrated his unwavering commitment to the institution, which is now evident in the development and impact of the UAGM university centers in Puerto Rico and the United States. Academically, Méndez Méndez holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Business Administration, and is currently in the final stage of his doctoral degree in Management at the Universidad Ana G. Méndez, Gurabo Campus.

Since his appointment as president of UAGM in 2016, Méndez Méndez has focused on promoting a culture of continuous innovation in the administrative, academic, and student dimensions. He has also strengthened the international projection, focus on technology, and research. He is married to Dr. Eileen Rodríguez Domenech and has four children: José Francisco (Jofran), José Fernando, Vicente, and Fabiola.
